Recreational Therapist

**Job Summary**
Centurion Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreational Therapist to join our team at the Valdosta State Prison in Valdosta, Georgia. As a key member of our mental health team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing recreational and social activities to support the psychological stabilization of patients in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement recreational and social activities to achieve treatment objectives and foster skill building and problem solving in patients.
- Work under the direction of professional mental health staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide education and training to patients on recreational and social skills.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop strategies to address them.
Requirements:
- Two (2) years of experience in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field providing activities programming for persons with serious mental illness.
- Active Basic Life Support certification.
- Training, experience, or certification as an aide, medical technician, EMT, or activities technician preferred.
- Experience working in a correctional mental health setting preferred.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.
