Orthopedic Nurse Care Coordinator

About the Role:
This position requires a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to facilitate a positive surgical experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Patient Navigation: Guide patients through the perioperative diagnostic and treatment process, ensuring clarity and support.
- Pre-Anesthesia Testing: Conduct pre-anesthesia testing (PAT) to assess patients' health and readiness for surgery.
- Relationship Building: Establish positive relationships with patients and their families to foster trust and open communication.
- Experience Facilitation: Facilitate a positive surgical experience by addressing patient concerns and providing timely information.
- Coordination of Care: Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless coordination and continuity of care throughout the perioperative journey.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on the surgical process, recovery expectations, and post-operative care.
- Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and preferences within the healthcare system, ensuring their voices are heard.
- Monitoring and Follow-Up: Monitor patients' progress and follow up on any concerns or barriers to care pre-surgery and post-surgery.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, interactions, and care plans.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about best practices in perioperative care and patient navigation to enhance service quality.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Education: Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
- Certifications: Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start date. Basic Life Support (BLS). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Experience: At least 3 years of inpatient or outpatient orthopedic nursing experience is required.
