Position Title: Classroom Teacher - Special Education

Reports To: Principal

Primary Function:
Facilitates tailored instruction in a secure and structured environment that promotes learning for all assigned students.

Requirements:
  • Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Certification/Licensing: Valid GA Teacher's Certificate
  • Proficiency Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, effective student management, leadership, and supervisory skills. Capable of employing diverse instructional strategies that connect curriculum to student needs. Competent in managing multiple tasks, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Personal Skills: Friendly demeanor, collaborative spirit, and the physical endurance to fulfill essential responsibilities.
General Responsibilities:
  • Exhibits effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Completes routine tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Engages in extracurricular activities and/or participates in designated committees.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the school, district, and administration.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned by the principal.
Student Achievement Goals:
  • Utilizes state and district assessment results and local school performance data to enhance the instructional program for all assigned students.
  • Designs and implements suitable instructional activities aimed at boosting student achievement.
Professional Development:
  • Engages in professional organizations and staff development opportunities.
  • Shares insights with colleagues and applies learned concepts in the classroom.
  • Embraces new challenges with a professional attitude.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Facilitates communication between home and school through conferences, phone calls, and written correspondence; collaborates effectively with peers and demonstrates excellent public service skills.
