Position Overview:
Coilplus Inc. is seeking a dedicated Plant Operations Leader to oversee our manufacturing facility. We value candidates with experience in the steel industry and are open to relocation for the right individual.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 30 production staff
- Supervise 2 team leaders
- Oversee 2 maintenance personnel
- Coordinate traffic logistics with 1 dedicated coordinator
- Ensure safety protocols with 1 safety coordinator
Core Duties:
Direct and manage all operational activities within the plant to meet safety, quality, scheduling, and cost targets. You will be responsible for the organization, control, and direction of all operations, reporting directly to the Division President or General Manager. Your role will include planning and executing daily production activities.
Develop and manage operational budgets, including wages, maintenance, and variable costs such as packaging and supplies. Ensure that production capabilities align with Coilplus standards and fulfill customer expectations.
You will be accountable for production output and will collaborate with other department leaders to ensure product quality and timely delivery. Participate in the development of both short-term and long-term strategies aimed at cost reduction and supply chain enhancement. Support strategic initiatives and create systems that monitor and improve safety, quality, and productivity. Establish performance standards to ensure optimal asset utilization while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
10+ years in a manufacturing setting, preferably with steel or metal experience
7+ years in operations or plant management roles
Experience leading a maintenance team
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to unify team efforts towards the common goal of safe and timely steel shipment
Capable of coaching and developing supervisors to enhance their skills
Familiarity with 5S methodology is advantageous
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of distribution, warehousing, or logistics systems
Demonstrated leadership abilities with effective prioritization skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Strong analytical capabilities
Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Work Authorization:
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred.
5+ years of progressively responsible experience in operations management is essential.
