Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients and maintaining the specimen collection component of our Laboratory Information System (LIS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood specimens from patients using appropriate collection techniques and devices.
  • Maintain the integrity and quality of specimens by handling and storing them safely.
  • Label, accession, and deliver specimens to the proper department.
  • Respond promptly to phlebotomy requests for STATs, ASAPs, NOWs, and outpatients.
  • Communicate information to appropriate areas, departments, and individuals.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • Phlebotomy certification (CPT) or health-related experience preferred.
  • On-the-job training may be given.
  • Good interpersonal skills required.
  • Typing and basic computer skills required.
