Radiation Therapy Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering radiation therapy treatments to patients diagnosed with cancer. This role involves direct patient interaction and requires a high level of technical skill and compassion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Administers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician.
2. Communicates treatment procedures clearly to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
3. Prepares the treatment environment, including equipment setup and patient positioning.
4. Monitors daily treatment parameters, ensuring accurate dosage delivery and maintaining comprehensive treatment records.
5. Conducts patient imaging in treatment positions and observes for any unusual changes in response to therapy.
6. Performs localization of tumors to assist in precise treatment delivery.
7. Manages inventory and supplies necessary for the treatment room.
8. Coordinates patient scheduling for treatment sessions on radiation machines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Associate's degree from an accredited program in Radiation Therapy; Bachelor's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy school.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- ARRT certification or eligibility for certification within six months of employment.
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Card.
- New graduates are encouraged to apply.

COMPENSATION:
This position offers a competitive pay rate of $47.15 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a rotational on-call schedule.
