Job Summary:
Sharp HealthCare is seeking a skilled Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Oncology team at Grossmont Hospital. As a Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and safe delivery of radiation therapy to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, or Manager, perform duties directly involved with various procedures and prescribed treatment plans on radiation oncology patients.
- Interpret Radiation Oncologist's orders and generate prescribed treatment plans using computer and/or manual pre-treatment and treatment planning records.
- Operate simulator/mold and treatment equipment as needed.
- Assist in preparation of weekly planning meetings.
- Assist MD with treatment simulation, body contouring, and use of immobilization molds.
- Assist physicist with treatment planning, brachytherapy, prostate implants, and other procedures.
- Ensure competence by participating in Continuing Education programs or SCVMC supported events concerning radiation therapy or dosimetry.
- Participate in at least 1 CQI project per year.
Requirements:
- 1 Year Experience in radiation therapy treatment planning.
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board - REQUIRED.
- Bachelor's Degree B.S., B.A. degree preferred with eligibility to take CMD exam, or OJT (may also be Certified Medical Dosimetrist).
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - PREFERRED.
