Job Title: Occupational Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at the Children's Developmental Center. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality therapy services to children with developmental delays and their families.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to develop and implement treatment plans for children with special needs. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in conjunction with the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Provide direct therapy services to children assigned to your caseload
  • Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and exercises to enhance the child's strength, coordination, mobility, and cognitive function
  • Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, using the EHR system (AdvancedMD)
  • Attend and participate in all safety, job-specific required training, and informational meetings
Requirements:
  • Current Washington State Department of Health License for COTA
  • Completion of Infant/Toddler CPR and Basic First Aid
  • Completion of Bloodborne Pathogens training
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers with special health care needs and their families
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards, confidentiality, and ensuring equity and inclusion in a diverse workplace
  • Understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
