The Telecommunications Cable Technician will engage in various labor tasks related to the construction of telecommunication systems as directed by the site supervisor.


Key Responsibilities:
This role encompasses all aspects of underground construction, including but not limited to:

  • Loading, driving, and delivering materials
  • Excavating, removing, and positioning diverse construction materials and equipment

Essential Functions:
As part of your role, you will:

  • Perform tasks related to the installation and splicing of cables
  • Maintain accurate inventory on your vehicle based on assignments
  • Assemble equipment according to specifications
  • Install and repair lines in trenches or pedestals using hand tools
  • Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post-installation
  • Document daily production and accurately update job site blueprints


Qualifications:
To succeed in this position, candidates must:

  • Be able to perform physical tasks for at least 8 hours a day, 5 days a week
  • Work overtime, evenings, weekends, or be on-call as needed
  • Be comfortable working in various weather conditions
  • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as necessary
  • Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Have basic knowledge of utility trucks and equipment operation
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients
