Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of therapy for cardiac and pulmonary patients.
The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree from an accredited school of professional nursing and at least two years of nursing experience in coronary care, critical care, and/or med/surg. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is also preferred.
As a Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating patient clinical status, providing recommended rehab services, and educating patients and families about cardiopulmonary diseases and treatments. You will also participate in case management and discharge planning conferences with other interdisciplinary staff and document patient progress.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will also be able to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient clinical status and provide recommended rehab services
- Provide education to patients and families about cardiopulmonary diseases and treatments
- Participate in case management and discharge planning conferences
- Document patient progress
Requirements:
- Graduate degree from an accredited school of professional nursing
- At least two years of nursing experience in coronary care, critical care, and/or med/surg

Physical Demands:
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time

Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
