Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Direct Staff: Provide supervision and direction to staff, coordinating workflow within the work unit, distributing work, disseminating information, assigning staff to cover for absences, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and resolving problems.
  • Ensure Effective Learning Environment: Coach employees, orchestrate learning opportunities, and provide relevant, high-impact feedback to create a learning environment that fosters growth and development.
  • Maintain Food Safety and Quality: Inspect food receiving, preparation, production, and storage areas to ensure regulations and good production practices are adhered to, maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
  • Oversee Service Operations: Ensure coverage of openings based on unexpected absences, vacations, etc., and oversee the service of meals to ensure that the quality, portioning, and procedures are correct.
  • Implement Promotions and Improve Efficiency: Assist with ensuring that proper production techniques are followed, implement product promotions by developing marketing materials, and identify and implement ways to streamline and improve efficiencies while maintaining process effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required, one year of culinary experience, associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication skills, strong leadership, problem-solving, customer service, and business acumen.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds occasionally, and occasional computer use.
