Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with project managers to conduct research, development, calculations, design, and project delivery.
  • Utilize engineering methodologies, procedures, and design standards for projects of varying sizes and complexities.
  • Apply your technical expertise and client relationships to enhance project design execution and evaluation.
  • Generate both conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to facilitate project implementation using contemporary technical tools and software.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, providing constructive feedback on their work.

As a valued team member, you will contribute to the successful delivery of diverse projects for HNTB's clientele.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Independently create structural computations for design and analysis, including quantity takeoffs for bridges and transportation structures.
  • Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for structural work on transportation infrastructure projects of varying complexity.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of structural design calculations, drawings, and cost estimates in accordance with HNTB's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination to ensure consistency and compatibility in project design.
  • Provide innovative technical solutions to complex infrastructure challenges throughout all project phases, from planning to final design and construction support.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Specification and/or AREMA.
  • Experience with bridge design software such as CSi Bridge, LEAP Bridge Concrete, and AASHTOWare BrR.
