Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Collections Specialist to join our team at North American Partners in Anesthesia. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the timely processing of claims and maintaining accurate records.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced medical collections environment. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel, are essential. Excellent communication and organizational skills are also necessary for success in this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate follow-up on unpaid claims and ensure timely reimbursement appeals.
  • Identify and research billing errors, processing corrections promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the collection process.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to resolve issues and achieve desired results.
  • Update accounts with information obtained through correspondence and telephone.
  • Perform audits on accounts to review for accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in medical collections, with strong knowledge of patient accounting processes and healthcare terminology.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Total Rewards:

This is a virtual position based in Fairfax, VA, with a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
