Janitorial Assistant

At SpartanNash, we strive to deliver exceptional customer experiences through innovative solutions. As a Janitorial, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and serviceable environment for our customers and associates.
Key Responsibilities:- Clean and dust shelves and fixtures, clean windows, and sweep/vacuum as needed.
- Assist in bottle room machine maintenance, empty full bins, and return bins.
- Clean bathrooms daily, sweep and mop floors, sanitize sinks, scrub toilets, refill paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Wipe down grocery carts to ensure they are clean and dry.
- Keep the cart return area clean and return left-behind items to shelves.
- Sweep sidewalks free of clutter, trash, debris; ice/snow removal required during colder outside temperatures as needed.
- Utilize brooms, mop, floor scrubber, dusters, and general store cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Clean lobby, vacuum rugs, clean windows, and wipe off ledges.
- Empty trash cans, inside and out as needed.
- High School Diploma (Preferred) or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Good verbal communication skills: ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
- Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.

May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
