Janitorial Assistant

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Janitorial Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the common areas of our store are clean and serviceable for customers and associates.
Key Responsibilities- Dust and clean shelves and fixtures, clean windows, and sweep/vacuum as needed.
- Assist in maintaining bottle room equipment, empty full bins, and return bins.
- Clean bathrooms daily, including sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing sinks, scrubbing toilets, and refilling paper towels and toilet paper.
- Wipe down grocery carts to ensure they are clean and dry.
- Keep the cart return area clean and organized, returning items to their designated shelves.
- Sweep sidewalks free of clutter, trash, and debris, and remove ice and snow as needed during colder temperatures.
- Utilize brooms, mops, floor scrubbers, dusters, and general store cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Clean the lobby, including vacuuming rugs, cleaning windows, and wiping off ledges.
- Empty trash cans, both inside and out, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Good verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
- Good customer service and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.
The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate may be required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. The work environment is typically a retail store setting with varied temperatures and moderate noise levels. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
