Key Responsibilities

  • Provide health physics support for diagnostic and therapeutic administration of radiation in various clinical areas.
  • Measure and document radiation levels around patients receiving therapeutic treatments.
  • Conduct surveys on radiation-protective equipment and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain inventories of radiation detection instruments and radioactive materials.
  • Respond to radioactive material spills and other radiation emergencies.
  • Collect, survey, and process radioactive material waste.
  • Prepare and generate routine reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in physical, biological, or other related science.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in radiation protection or a closely related field.
  • Eligibility for certification by the American Board of Health Physics or an equivalent certifying body.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of personnel in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and manipulate a full 55-gallon/400-pound drum using a drum cart.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
