Job Title: Interventional Radiologist

We are seeking a highly qualified Interventional Radiologist to join our team at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of procedures, including image-guided interventions, TACE, TARE - Y90, and cryoablation.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform procedures to include pre and post procedure preparation, image-guided procedures, TACE, TARE - Y90, microwave ablations, renal cryoablations, suprapubic catheter placement, IVC placement, and peripheral stenting.
  • Coordinate with patients care team within IR, other medical center staff, and occasionally with providers outside the medical center.
  • Oversight of quality and safety, including review of exam requests for appropriateness, provision of technical image quality feedback to technologists, and participation in various aspects of quality assurance.
  • Image interpretation and consultation, including interpretation of imaging exams, generation of reports, and consultation with providers on various aspects of imaging.
  • Patient care, including interaction with patients to obtain relevant clinical history and physical exam findings, provision of education to patients, and documentation in CPRS.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine degree or equivalent degree from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience:
  • Board eligible/certified in radiology.
  • At least 2 years of experience as Attending Radiologist at a Medical Center affiliated with an ACGME-accredited Radiology Residency, including performance of advanced vascular, oncologic, and spinous interventional radiology procedures.
