Position Summary

The role of Manufacturing Technician at ASI involves hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and light fabrication tasks related to the production and installation of simulation and training devices. The technician will be part of a team responsible for producing, installing, and modifying these devices, with a specific focus on auto body painting.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks are primarily defined as build-to-print, utilizing engineering drawings and related documentation such as Job Tickets and Work Instructions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include supervisory duties.

Experience Requirements

ENTRY- 0 to 2 Years
MID- 3-5 Years
SENIOR - 5+ Years

  1. Familiarity with methods, materials, tools, and practices in the auto body repair industry.
  2. Knowledge of safety precautions and occupational hazards in the auto body repair field.
  3. Basic understanding of automotive mechanics.
  4. Awareness of different metals and their thicknesses used in manufacturing.
  5. Experience in mixing paint, hardeners, and reducers.
  6. Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks.

Additional Skills and Abilities

  1. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Fluency in English.
  3. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Adaptability in communication style for various audiences.
  5. Capability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  6. Proficiency in standard business software (Microsoft Office Suite).

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Employment Requirements

Willingness to travel as needed, including potential CONUS/OCONUS travel.

  1. Must be a United States Citizen.
  2. Successful completion of a background check is required.
  3. Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  4. Compliance with a Drug-Free Workplace policy, including pre-employment and random drug testing.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to communicate effectively.
  2. Manual dexterity for operating equipment and tools.
  3. Physical stamina for standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
