Responsibilities:
  • Administer medication and take vital signs as indicated, documenting in consumer charts.
  • Review referral packets and assess referrals for medical issues.
  • Provide nursing health evaluation information, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment planning information to the mental health team.
  • Conduct emergency consumer assessments and refer to inpatient treatment as needed.
  • Participate in treatment planning by documenting use of clinical modality, completing assessment assignments, and scheduling/attending treatment planning meetings.
  • Ensure medication administration is consistent with state-specific medication guidelines.
  • Promote wellness by providing opportunities for physical activity, nutritional education, and treating nicotine addiction.
  • Assist consumers in managing chronic conditions, such as mental illness, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, hypertension, etc.
  • Work directly with consumers, individually or in groups, in consultation with the Psychiatrist and other physicians as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified by an approved school of nursing program or baccalaureate degree in nursing and licensed by the state to practice nursing.
  • Two years' experience providing direct clinical services to adults with mental illness is highly desired.
  • Medical experience is preferred.
