Job Overview

Northern Products Company is a well-established custom packaging firm with over 50 years of experience in the industry. We are seeking a skilled 3D CAD Specialist proficient in Solidworks or similar software.

Key Qualifications
  • Expertise in drafting designs utilizing a variety of materials
  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical and related schematics
  • Solid understanding of SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and mentor junior designers and assistants
  • Collaborate with sales personnel and clients to create drawings based on models, sketches, prints, and verbal or written instructions
  • Ensure compliance with company drawing standards and templates
  • Operate CNC machinery for both prototyping and production processes
  • Coordinate closely with manufacturing and customer service teams to ensure accurate information and revision control
  • Utilize CAD software to support the creation of production fixtures for precise assembly
  • Revise existing drawings as needed
  • Optimize tooling layouts to maximize material efficiency
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned
Education and Experience

Preferred Education: Associate Degree or Certification

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in drafting, with Solidworks or equivalent software experience
