Key Responsibilities
- Create and construct physical product prototypes according to customer specifications and requests from sales teams.
- Arrange customer-specified product structures into preferred formats to streamline production processes.
- Utilize CAD software to design structures, die layouts, product dimensions, and various styles.
- Oversee the procurement and management of dies and tooling essential for manufacturing.
- Supervise the production of steel counters and associated components.
- Provide prompt quotes to the Plant Estimator to ensure accurate pricing for orders.
- Collaborate effectively with clients and departmental managers to maintain project alignment.
- Generate layout data for the laser die maker to facilitate the creation of production die boards.
- Maintain and organize product structure files for easy access and reference.
- Establish a system to ensure all design modifications are appropriately approved and documented.
- Maintain and service CAD equipment and computers to guarantee optimal functionality.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a CAD Designer or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or comparable).
- Strong grasp of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for manufacturing and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes is advantageous.
