Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Assembler to join our team at Powell Industries. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for installing electrical devices, conduit, and wiring systems in accordance with industry standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install electrical devices, including disconnects, lights, panel boards, transformers, battery chargers, and VFDs
  • Bend, run, and install conduit (EMT and Rigid)
  • Install wireway and cable tray
  • Pull wire and large cable
  • Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires
  • Install wiring by following standard work/process instructions (NEC Manual)
Requirements
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED and 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Basic command of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Knowledge of air, hand, and power tools
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Ability to bend conduit on a GB Sidewinder style bender (EMT and Rigid)
  • Experience installing cable tray and wire way
  • Ability to crimp and terminate wires
  • Ability to read drawings (wiring diagrams, schematics, layout drawings)
  • Working knowledge of electricity, circuits, and functions of common components
  • Working knowledge of relevant NEC Code sections and Powell Standards and Best Practices
