Job Overview

Celebrating over 80 years of excellence, CDR Maguire is a leading national engineering firm seeking a seasoned Resident Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of projects in accordance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day construction oversight, monitoring contractor performance, schedule, responsiveness, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure construction is executed in accordance with contract documents, RIDOT, and FHWA regulations.
  • Manage contractor to maintain project cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Manage inspection staff and the delivery of daily inspection reports in accordance with RIDOT requirements.
  • Act as liaison to design staff to respond to Contractor RFI's and review of shop drawings.
  • Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.
  • Manage the contractor payment process and recommend adjustments as required to monitor the contractor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of Resident Engineering or related experience preferably with a State Department of Transportation, or Minimum 5 years with Engineer in Training certification, or Minimum 1 year with Current RI PE license.
  • Proficiency with Headlight and/or Bluebeam software preferred.
