Position Overview:
The Critical Care Transport (CCT) team at Cleveland Clinic is a leader in the field of patient transport, providing expert care for critically ill individuals worldwide. Our team operates around the clock, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care during transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver immediate medical assistance to critically ill or injured patients throughout the transport process.
- Navigate emergency vehicles to respond to urgent calls.
- Evaluate the severity of the patient's condition, administer necessary emergency medical treatment, and maintain communication with hospital personnel until the patient is handed over.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program.
- Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- A minimum of three years of experience as an EMT-P in critical care settings, including flight or surface transport.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a metropolitan area.
- Background in emergency room settings or critical care transport.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Newborn Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (to be obtained within 6 months of hire if not already certified).
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification and flight paramedic certification (to be obtained within 2 years of hire if not already certified).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform in confined spaces and various transport modes, adapting to different terrains and weather conditions.
- Medium Work - capable of exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
- Physical demands exceed those for light work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adhere to Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as necessary for procedures.
