Associate Director, Design and Construction

The University of Pennsylvania seeks an experienced Associate Director to lead the development, management, and implementation of construction, renovation, and relocation projects within the Perelman School of Medicine. This critical role requires a strong understanding of project management principles, sound management practices, and the ability to apply them to complex facilities renovations and new construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, manage, and implement PSOM construction, renovation, and relocation projects
- Apply sound management practices to projects involving facilities renovations and new construction
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success
- Manage project teams, including programming, budgeting, scheduling, and status reporting
- Coordinate with Tele/data planning and activation, move planning and coordination, and specialized equipment procurement
A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience in biomedical research laboratory design within an academic environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, patient, good managerial and people skills, accurate and precise, organized, willing to follow procedures/regimen, familiar with database software packages, CAD/CAFM systems, and basic building infrastructure systems and space planning.
