Role Summary

The Extruder Operator I plays a crucial role in our production team, ensuring the efficient operation of extrusion machinery. This position involves monitoring and maintaining the extrusion process to meet quality standards and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure extrusion temperatures meet or exceed established Critical Control Limits.
  • Document and monitor Critical Control Limit Temperatures, addressing any deviations promptly.
  • Oversee daily operations including start-up, shut down, and cleaning of extrusion equipment.
  • Conduct quality audits and maintain cleanliness of the production area.
  • Proactively assist with equipment maintenance and improvements.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to achieve daily production objectives.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Report any food safety concerns or security issues to management.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Two years of experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in food production.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment

This position involves exposure to moving machinery, dust, and varying noise levels. Safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a clean workspace are essential.
