Job Summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing analytical laboratory testing, requiring a moderate to high degree of theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise in licensed area(s). This role involves testing of blood and/or human biological specimens, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-analytical activities, including maintenance, inventory control, and specimen collection
  • Conduct analytical procedures for assigned department or work area efficiently and accurately
  • Participate in proficiency testing and adhere to federal and state regulations
  • Report results and provide technical information related to laboratory testing
  • Provide orientation and training to new employees and medical technology students
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related sciences
  • State licensure or national certification (e.g., American Society for Clinical Pathology)
  • Two years of technical experience
