Urology Physician Assistant

Our Urology network is aligned with our Surgical Institute providing multidisciplinary care to patients across the spectrum of digestive disease. Servicing both Lake and Sumter Counties we are seeking a partner APP to help build thriving practice. Inpatient and outpatient opportunities.

No OR experience required, however prefer 2 years minimum Urology office experience.

The opportunity includes the benefits of a family/collegial team atmosphere, mentoring, assisting in follow ups, post and pre-op prep, and clinic. Employment infrastructure with strong competitive benefits, base salary and flex incentive package upon joining.

Requirements:
  • Team player with patient-first mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Eligibility for active Florida license
  • Ability to collaborate closely with attending physicians and also work autonomously.
The PA or APRN under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for the following:
  • Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic urologic conditions also including urologic oncology within the clinic and hospital setting.
  • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Monitors the patient s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • First assist with urologic surgeries such as removal of kidney stones, etc.
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.

A strong emphasis will be placed on evidence-based medicine with a concentration on patient centered care. The new APP should have the desire to join a busy practice.

Tavares is located in beautiful Lake County, where residents and visitors enjoy the quiet pleasures of rural living among 1,400 lakes for fishing and water sports, all within 90 minutes of the Orlando International Airport, East Coast beaches, Gulf Coast beaches, and the Orlando area attractions. The average temperature is 70 degrees, with summer highs in the 90's and winter lows in the 50's and 60's.
