Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Iowa Department of Administrative Services. As a Registered Nurse in a correctional facility, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to inmates and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in a correctional setting, including assessing, planning, and implementing individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, optometrists, and dentists, to coordinate patient care.
  • Administer medications, perform triage, and coordinate care with other healthcare providers.
  • Participate in the management of the nursing care of patients, including developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and training to patients, staff, and other healthcare providers on various topics related to patient care.

Requirements:

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a correctional or similar setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
