Job Description

We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a member of our team, you will work in residential programs, day programs, and in the community, providing direct care, support, and services to our clients.

Responsibilities
  • Direct Care: Provide tailored care to individuals based on their Individual Support Plan (ISP)/Person Centered Plan (PCP)
  • Support Daily Routines: Assist with cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and maintaining personal hygiene
  • Health and Medical Needs: Monitor health and medical needs and report any concerns
  • Learning and Development: Assist with learning and development of independent and community-based skills
  • Community Involvement: Participate in community, social, and recreational activities with individuals
  • Transportation: Drive individuals to medical appointments and activities in the community
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely completion of program documentation and billable records
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with community members, businesses, and families
  • Work Environment: Ensure work locations and vehicles are clean and well maintained to provide a safe environment
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Training: Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
  • Driving: Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Communication: Ability to work individually and with a team to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
  • Crisis Management: Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
