This professional is responsible for executing fundamental competencies during their orientation period and delivering effective respiratory care with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing specialized tasks (CPR, handling specialty gases, bronchoscopy, patient transport, etc.)

General Requirements

  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.
  • Adhering to all institutional policies and standards.
  • For detailed responsibilities, refer to the documentation provided during orientation.
  • Must comply with all regulations to securely manage Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients. Annual training, the University Hospitals Code of Conduct, and institutional policies are established to ensure appropriate PHI usage in the workplace.
Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is mandatory
  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred

Licensure and Certification:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a valid license to practice in Ohio is required

Preferred Experience:

A minimum of one year of recent experience is preferred. Previous employment in a healthcare facility is also advantageous. Membership in the AARC is highly encouraged. The work schedule consists of 10-hour shifts from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Incentives:

Employees hired for 35 hours or more will receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus: $3,000 will be disbursed in the next applicable pay period after 90 days of employment, and $7,000 will be awarded after one year of service, contingent on performance.
