About the Role

As a Medication Care Manager Leader at Sunrise Senior Living, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and services to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to administer medication and treatments in a safe and organized manner, while leading the assigned tasks of Medication Care Managers.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Administration of medications: You will be responsible for administering medications to our residents in accordance with their medical plans and regulations.
  • Documentation of medication administration: Accurate documentation is crucial in maintaining records of medication administration. You will ensure that all medication administrations are properly documented.
  • Leading resident care: As a Medication Care Manager Leader, you will lead our resident care team, ensuring that we provide the highest quality of care in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
  • Training and procedures: You will ensure that proper training and procedures are in place to provide the highest quality of care for our residents.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Checking for medication updates with the Resident Care Director (RCD) or Wellness Nurse
  • Partnering with the community team to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies
  • Reporting all unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately
  • Utilizing the Sunrise Problem Resolution system
  • Leading daily Cross Over meetings, encouraging active participation and teamwork within the changing shifts
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma/GED accepted and may be required per state regulations
  • To be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with seniors in assisted living, home health, independent living, hospital, or long-term care environment and desire to serve and care for seniors
  • Medication Management Certified with a successful completion of Sunrise University medication management training
  • Demonstrates leadership competencies, ability to delegate assignments to the appropriate individuals based on their skills, roles, and interests
  • Ability to react and remain calm in difficult situations, make choices, decisions, and act in the resident's best interest
