Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer patient calls and surgery inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Verify surgical benefits and obtain authorizations
  • Schedule surgical procedures at our credentialed centers and hospitals
  • Communicate and update patients on surgery status
  • Reconcile deposits and copays for surgery
  • Ensure medical clearance, pre-op and post-op instructions are relayed to patients in a timely manner
  • Obtain proper consents for surgical procedures
  • Provide updates to surgeons in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Minimum one-year experience in cosmetic and medical surgical procedure scheduling
  • Clinical experience is a plus
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members
  • EMR experience
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Bi-lingual is a plus

Physical Demands

The Surgical Coordinator position requires coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. The incumbent must also be capable of lifting up to 10 pounds.
