We are seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our anesthesia team at UNC Health Care. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia under the supervision of the Attending Anesthesiologist and providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, including laboratory and diagnostic studies, to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Prepare patients for anesthesia, including explaining procedures and positioning patients on the surgical table.
- Develop and implement plans of care for anesthetic management, taking into account patient history, physical, and laboratory data.
- Administer and manage anesthetic techniques, including regional anesthesia, sedation, and monitored anesthesia care.
- Provide post-anesthesia care, discharge, and handoff reporting, ensuring seamless transitions of care.
- Orient and evaluate new CRNAs, as well as mentor and evaluate nurse anesthesia students.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, departmental committees, and other operational projects as assigned.
- Master's degree from a school of nurse anesthesia approved by the State Accrediting Agency and the Council on Accreditation of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
- Current certification as a CRNA by the AANA.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- Certified in ACLS, BLS, and PALs.
- At least one year of experience as a CRNA desired.
