Your Role
As a vital member of our production team, you will engage in essential tasks that contribute to the efficient operation of our facilities. At Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp, we pride ourselves on delivering quality products while fostering a supportive work environment.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer competitive hourly wages starting at $18/hour, with an additional $.40/hour shift differential for those working second and third shifts. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement plans, and more, ensuring that our team members are well taken care of from day one.
Key Responsibilities
As a Production Support Associate, your responsibilities will include:
- Handling materials and utilizing hand tools, machinery, and equipment to ensure the smooth flow of production.
- Performing physically demanding tasks that require strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Working in various environments, including cold and warm areas, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and complying with sanitation standards.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
- Willingness to perform repetitive movements and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment, which may include mandatory overtime based on production needs.
Work Environment
This position requires working in a dynamic environment that may involve exposure to strong odors, noise, and various cleaning chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided to ensure your safety.
