About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Satellite Ground Systems Operations Engineer to join our Missions Control System (MCS) team at Maxar Intelligence. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the Ground System that operates Maxar's Earth Intelligence spacecraft constellation.

Your Responsibilities
  • Support real-time spacecraft/satellite operations to align with Maxar's mission, from design to implementation and into operations.
  • Provide technical expertise in matters pertaining to the satellite ground system, including ground equipment, satellite command and control, satellite telemetry, and payload backhaul and processing.
  • Collaborate with product owners, system engineers, software engineers, spacecraft operators, aerospace engineers, remote ground station engineers, and IT engineers to design and implement the satellite ground system.
  • Work in a broad technical scope, primarily with software, using analysis of data and logs to troubleshoot software systems.
  • Utilize monitoring and alarming to ensure systems are operating nominally or teams respond quickly to anomalies.
Requirements
  • Government Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of troubleshooting software
  • Expertise in Unix and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software systems
  • Demonstrated ability to document technical information
