We are seeking a dedicated Utility Locator to contribute to our mission of connecting communities. This role involves the careful visual examination of designated construction zones.
Key Responsibilities:- Interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities.
- Utilize electronic detection equipment to accurately locate utilities.
- Mark identified utilities and complete necessary documentation.
- Engage in various phases of underground construction, including:
- Loading, driving, and delivering construction materials.
- Hand digging with shovels and mechanical tools.
- Installation and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling.
- Operating heavy machinery and working in diverse environments.
- Maintain communication with team members to ensure safety.
- Perform general construction tasks under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Establish safety perimeters using signage and barriers.
Applicants must possess a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record. A basic understanding of utility trucks and equipment operation is essential, along with the ability to use hand tools safely. Effective communication skills are necessary for interaction with customers and colleagues.
