Position: Laboratory Technician I
Company: Rang Technologies Inc.
Employment Type: Contract
Compensation: $20 - $23 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in research and development initiatives by executing routine laboratory tasks according to established protocols.
- Support the setup and execution of bioreactor experiments.
- Conduct daily aseptic sampling of bioreactor cultures, including routine offline analyses such as cell concentration and product quality.
- Perform general laboratory maintenance tasks, including instrument standardization, preparation of solutions and reagents, and cleaning of glassware.
- Manage inventory and ensure adequate stock of laboratory supplies.
- Contribute to laboratory organization and cleanliness.
Essential Qualifications:
- Associate of Science degree in Biological Sciences or a related scientific field.
- Experience with aseptic techniques is highly preferred.
- Willingness and ability to acquire new skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Required Skills:
- Upstream Associate Scientist responsibilities include: i. Daily monitoring and sampling of bioreactor cultures ii. Calibration of standard analytical equipment (e.g., pH probes) iii. Aseptic techniques and culture expansion iv. Preparation and filtration of media and buffer solutions v. Primary recovery of cell cultures, including centrifugation and filtration.
- Downstream Associate Scientist tasks involve: i. Preparation and filtration of media and buffer solutions ii. Column packing and qualification iii. Column chromatography iv. UF/DF (TFF) processes v. Basic sample handling and analytical techniques.
- Process Analytical Scientist duties include: i. Calibration of analytical equipment ii. Preparation and filtration of media and buffer solutions iii. Basic protein analytical techniques (HPLC, iCE, SDS-PAGE) iv. Data analysis of protein analytical techniques.
