The Army National Guard is seeking a skilled Radio and Communications Security Repairer to join our team. As a Radio and Communications Security Repairer, you will be responsible for maintaining the equipment and systems that ensure secure communication channels for Army National Guard units.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and repair circuits and wiring to ensure secure communication systems
- Calibrate and align equipment components to optimize performance
- String overhead cables between utility poles to establish secure communication networks
- Repair and maintain communication security/controlled cryptographic item systems
- Perform equipment tests and preventive maintenance checks to ensure system reliability
Advanced Responsibilities
- Train and supervise other Soldiers on communication security repair procedures
- Test and evaluate equipment performance to ensure compliance with National Security Agency standards
- Perform complex repairs and maintenance on communication security systems
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work with test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of communication security policy and procedure
Career Opportunities
As a Radio and Communications Security Repairer, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career in radio repair, radio mechanics, teletype repair, or station installation. You will also have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and be part of a team that ensures the security and reliability of communication systems.
Training and Development
You will receive 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you will learn fundamental Soldiering skills, and 16 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in a classroom setting. During AIT, you will learn mechanical, electronic, and electrical principles, preventive maintenance procedures, and communication security policies and procedures.
