Overview of the Role

The primary objective of this position is to execute routine maintenance, assessments, and repairs on heavy machinery equipped with various gasoline and diesel engines. This role includes the responsibility of preparing service orders and sourcing necessary parts and tools for repairs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoots and repairs vehicles and machinery
  • Conducts all required repairs to ensure fleet operability
  • Procures appropriate parts for machinery repairs
  • Records repair activities and time spent on repairs electronically
  • Provides routine maintenance services for all heavy machinery
  • Searches for and requests parts as necessary
  • Maintains a tidy and organized work environment
  • Performs related duties as needed
Note: This position operates on the 2nd Shift.
Work Hours: 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Work Schedule: Four 10-hour days, either Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent) with training in automotive/heavy equipment/light equipment, gasoline or diesel engine repairs
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in automotive/heavy equipment/small engine mechanical repair and maintenance; and/or state certifications
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that equips the individual with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities
Required Licenses or Certifications:
  • Must possess a valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License, Class A with an N Endorsement or the ability to obtain one within the six (6) month probationary period.
