Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Child Welfare Assistant to join our team at Oklahoma Human Services. As a Child Welfare Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the completion of various Child Welfare case management activities, including providing assistance to Child Welfare Specialists, clients, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Assist Child Welfare Specialists in completing case management activities, including scheduling appointments, arranging transportation, and coordinating referrals to other program areas and service providers.
  • Client Support: Provide support to clients and their families, including interviewing clients, reporting findings, and assisting in problem resolution.
  • Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks, including inputting case documentation, compiling social and economic data, and scheduling meetings.
  • Communication: Maintain communication among clients, providers, client's family, and others, and may assist clients in achieving individualized service plans.
Requirements
  • Education: Six months of experience in general office clerical work, providing care for children in a licensed day care facility, sales, or public contact work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: One year of clerical experience in a governmental or non-profit social services provider environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
