- Engages professionally and effectively with healthcare providers, patients, referring physicians, and insurance representatives.
- Confirms insurance eligibility and benefits using automated systems, payer portals, or direct communication.
- Keeps organized and detailed records of prior authorization and referral requests.
- Handles incoming referrals from various sources, ensuring proper authorization and scheduling of patients.
- Reviews scheduled appointments to verify the accuracy of insurance eligibility and referral requirements.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of healthcare plan specifications and network requirements.
- Effectively triages incoming inquiries and requests necessary documentation from providers or patients for service authorization and status updates.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in verifying insurance through online platforms.
- Minimum of two years of experience in insurance referral coordination or medical office settings.
- Familiarity with Next Gen and Epic systems is preferred.
- Experience with phone, fax, MyChart, and email communications.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication abilities.
- Capacity to thrive in a high-volume patient care environment.

- Self-motivated and proactive.
Work Environment:
- Standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Initial training period requires in-office attendance, with potential for a hybrid work model thereafter.
