Job Title: Contributing Faculty

The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is seeking a qualified Contributing Faculty member to join our team. As a Contributing Faculty member, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to our students.

Job Summary:

A Contributing Faculty member at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is responsible for delivering clinically-focused learning opportunities to students in the health science professions. This includes face-to-face, blended, and/or online delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain expertise in content area
  • Promote student success through optimal student engagement
    • Complete all course management requirements to meet program deadlines
    • Prepare and deliver course content
    • Monitor student progress; give feedback as appropriate
    • Facilitate student participation in learning activities
    • Serve as student-to-university liaison
  • Report student outcomes and use this information for teaching and learning improvements
    • Assess student performance on papers/examinations/projects
    • Communicate with program director (and course coordinator if teaching a multi-section course) regarding student difficulties or issues that arise
    • Ensure consistent content and testing, if a multi-section course
    • Complete annual self-evaluation of teaching performance; set goals for improvement
  • Keep course content current and as necessary, aligned with course consistency policy
    • Recommend course improvements for upcoming semester
  • Promote professionalism by modeling such behaviors inside and outside the classroom setting; promote inter-professional dialog
  • Collaborate with necessary departments to support a positive team environment
  • Uphold University core values, policies, and procedures
Requirements:
  • Experience with distance learning preferred
  • Terminal degree preferred. Post-professional master's degree or clinical doctorate with demonstrated clinical expertise with plans to obtain a terminal degree will be considered
  • Prior teaching experience preferred [could include online]
  • Experience in scholarly activity preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in the area of course content required
  • Working knowledge of educational theory and methodology

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for six to eight hours daily and includes physical demands associated with a traditional office setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions as necessary.

Contributing Faculty are hired for specific assignments which may vary by term. Compensation is a reasonable estimate and will be determined based on course credit hours, student enrollment, and educational degree obtained.
