Role Responsibilities

· Collaborating with the supervising physician, the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is tasked with delivering proficient healthcare to patients across diverse clinical environments. The APRN will manage a range of general urology patients in partnership with attending physicians, clinical nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The APRN's responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, patient assessment, formulation of suitable care plans, and ensuring safe and ethical treatment for all patients. Adherence to all relevant standards of care, protocols, and guidelines is imperative.

· Conducts direct patient consultations in the office, which includes assessments, work-ups, triage, emergency evaluations, and other patient care tasks.

· Gathers and records health histories, performs and documents physical examinations, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests.

· Provides patient education regarding diagnoses and anticipated treatment pathways.

· Works in conjunction with physicians to deliver appropriate direct care interventions within the defined scope of practice.

· Collects, organizes, and discusses relevant data, employing sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards and evidence-based medicine.

· Prescribes medications based on patient needs and ensures appropriate follow-up and outreach.

· Guarantees timely retrieval of laboratory results and diagnostic consultation reports.

· Consults with relevant internal and external personnel to facilitate appropriate referrals for acute, chronic, and preventive care.

Part-Time – 32 hours – Outpatient Setting

Qualifications

Requirements for Advanced Practitioners

· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master's program is preferred.

· Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut.

· Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC.

· A minimum of 2 years of experience in Urology is preferred.
