Role Responsibilities

· Collaborating with the attending physician, the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) will deliver proficient healthcare to patients across various clinical environments. The APRN will be responsible for managing a diverse range of general urology patients in partnership with attending physician(s), clinical nurses, and other healthcare team members. The APRN's responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, patient assessment, development of suitable care plans, and the ethical treatment of all patients. Adherence to applicable standards of care, protocols, and guidelines is essential.

· Deliver direct patient care during office consultations, which includes assessments, work-ups, triage, emergency interventions, and other patient care tasks.

· Gather and document health histories, conduct and record physical examinations, and order and interpret diagnostic tests.

· Provide patient counseling regarding diagnoses and anticipated treatment courses.

· Work in conjunction with physician(s) to deliver appropriate direct care interventions within the established scope of practice.

· Collect, organize, record, and discuss relevant data, employing sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards and evidence-based medicine.

· Prescribe medications according to patient needs and ensure appropriate follow-up and outreach.

· Ensure timely retrieval of laboratory and ancillary studies and diagnostic consultation reports.

· Consult with relevant internal and external personnel to facilitate appropriate referrals for acute, chronic, and preventive care.

Part Time – 32 hours – Outpatient

Qualifications

Requirements for Advanced Practitioners

· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master's program is preferred.

· Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut.

· Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse through AACN or ANCC.

· A minimum of 2 years of experience in Urology is preferred.
