Job Title: Package Gas Driver 1

Matheson Tri-Gas is seeking a skilled Package Gas Driver to join our team. As a Package Gas Driver, you will be responsible for transporting materials in a safe and timely manner, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and road conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport cylinders to assigned internal and external customers in a timely and safety-conscious manner.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle, maintaining it in a clean and proper condition.
  • Legibly complete driver log/trip reports on a daily basis.
  • Accurately record cylinders/hard-goods transactions on customer delivery tickets and trip reports.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and management, especially regarding safety and customer matters.
  • Operate a forklift truck as required for loading and unloading of product.
  • Set a good example for employees by observing the company's loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, including near misses, unsafe acts or conditions, and obey safety rules.
  • Use effective time management tools to follow through on work commitments and scheduled deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Mandatory: valid commercial Class B Drivers' License, Hazmat, Air Brake Endorsements, and Medical card; packaged gas straight truck driver; to include pumper, micro-bulk. Class A Drivers' License & Tanker Endorsements preferred.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous commercial driving experience or graduation from an accredited commercial driving school.
  • Minimum of one year road experience with no more than one moving violation within the past two years.
  • Ability to push cart 200+ lb. cylinders and bend/lift 50+lb containers.
  • Ability to read and write English language, perform simple mathematical calculations, and handle receipts.
  • Ability to work in diverse weather and working conditions.
