Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Assembler to join our team at Point Eight Power. As an Electrical Assembler, you will be responsible for providing high-quality craftsmanship in electrical assembly techniques to contribute to our team's goal of achieving industry-leading cycle time, delivering superior quality, and reducing per-unit costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute workmanship on production projects, including large line-ups and complex sections, with an intermediate level of proficiency.
  • Install all types of electrical components and devices onto pans and into enclosures, following drawing packages, assembly guides, and instructions defined by the Engineering Department.
  • Prepare and install electrical components, switches, meters, breaker cells, breakers, nameplates, sensors, etc., by reading and comprehending drawing packages, layouts, and documents with minimal supervision.
  • Perform daily tasks with safe and proper use of equipment and tools, including overhead cranes, pallet jacks, tilt tables, saw horses, stools, ladders, torque wrenches, drills, hand tools, air and electric power tools, tape measures, etc.
  • Interpret and apply intermediate electrical manufacturing knowledge and principles while reading specifications to make determinations on component parts, methods, sequencing, and advising team members of errors to technical drawings as a means of proactive quality measures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized work area by complying with safety procedures, rules, quality standards, and best practices, and relying on pre-established guidelines or directions from senior team members to perform tasks optimally.
  • Maintain operational excellence by completing necessary paperwork, such as Quality Check Lists, QCP Deficiencies, Discrepancy Lists.
Required Skills
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Tools and Equipment

The following tools and equipment are used in this role:

  • Screw drivers, ratchet and sockets, wrenches, torque wrenches, cutters, tape measure, band saw, air and electric power tools, drills, inspection mirror, etc.

Required Experience
  • 1 year of experience assembling electrical switchboards from a drawing package in our manufacturing facility.
  • 2 years of experience working in an electrical apprenticeship, as an electronic repairman, or HVAC installer, preferred.
