Surgical Scheduling Coordinator

Vaco Staffing is in search of a Surgery Scheduler for a permanent position that offers flexibility in work location. This role encompasses a commitment of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee the scheduling of surgical procedures, aligning with surgeon availability, patient requirements, and operating room resources, which includes both elective and urgent cases.
  • Engage with patients and healthcare professionals: Reach out to patients to finalize surgery dates and provide necessary instructions, while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to ensure thorough preparation and coordination.
  • Guarantee that all essential documentation, such as consent forms and insurance verification, is accurately completed and processed.
  • Manage the scheduling of operating rooms and surgical instruments, resolve scheduling conflicts, and address any last-minute adjustments or emergencies.
  • Maintain precise records of surgery schedules and modifications, generate reports on surgical volumes and patient wait times, and follow up with patients as required.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of two years of experience in surgical scheduling is REQUIRED.
  • Proficient in utilizing scheduling software, electronic health records, and other commonly used applications in healthcare environments.
  • Knowledge of healthcare compliance, legal standards, and patient confidentiality practices.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust to changes in schedules or procedures as needed.
