Pediatric Quality RN Specialist Job Summary

The Pediatric Quality RN Specialist plays a vital role in optimizing the care provided to pediatric patients at Grady Health System. This position requires collaboration with clinical staff to ensure high-quality care and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate pediatric performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison to pediatric care initiatives, both in-hospital and out-of-hospital.
  • Develop and implement hospital-based pediatric educational activities to promote best practices.
  • Ensure nursing staff competency evaluations are relevant to pediatric patient care.
  • Promote pediatric disaster preparedness and participate in hospital disaster-preparedness activities.
  • Provide support for pediatric education of out-of-hospital providers.
  • Assist with data abstraction for chart reviews specific to pediatric patients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Three or more years of experience as a pediatric nurse.
  • Experience participating in clinical performance improvement activities.
  • Leadership experience in clinical performance improvement activities.
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Georgia.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
  • Successful completion of Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) and Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) courses within six months of hire.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications and medical terminology.
