This role involves conducting inspections of building sprinkler and alarm systems, which includes testing devices, documenting findings, and generating reports. Responsibilities encompass gathering data and preparing essential documentation such as Sprinkler/Alarm Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all service and inspection tasks.
  • Conduct tests on all building sprinkler and alarm control panels, devices, and system functions, and record the results.
  • Generate an Inspection Report upon completion of inspections.
  • Provide after-hours on-call services on a rotational basis for customer needs.
  • Engage in team meetings and contribute to discussions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards for fire protection system inspection and testing. Stay updated with code requirements and industry developments, and obtain NICET certifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with sprinkler and low voltage systems or alternative suppression systems.
  • Proficient in using trade equipment, including sensitivity test equipment, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices.
  • Comfortable using computer systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
  • Capability to test and qualify for relevant licenses.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Punctuality is essential due to the need for sound tests before tenant arrivals.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in industrial, commercial, and residential environments with moderate to high noise levels, and comfort with heights.
  • This role is physically demanding, requiring standing, walking stairs, and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and squat for extended periods.
  • Capable of grasping, pushing, pulling, and manipulating small objects with hands.
  • Frequent overhead work and ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Consistent use of phone and computer throughout the day.
